But I have achieved this and you can also achieve it by following simple tricks

The profile image is important
you have to put a professional profile image, you can’t put a bad profile picture like wearing Sunglasses when your face looks clear in the profile picture it creates a little bit of trust in a client
it’s best to create a profile picture with a plain background, Look at my profile you will get some idea
Description is must
I don’t know how Upwork Algorithm works or how you can top in the list of searches, but yes for sure I know what to put in the description to get a better invitation,
whatever your skill is, Put all the works that are possible by that skill, I am an AWS DevOps developer so I have put all the possible jobs that can be done by me, there are 598 total words in my profile description and I have mentioned AWS 56 times in the description, so put a big description with all possibilities of your work,
you can also modify the description of a top freelancer, nothing wrong with it, if you see someone is performing best in the industry then do copy their description and modify it your way, you will be surprised by the result for sure, and I have tried it
Work History
If your profile has a lot of work history then chances are more to get invited, as when clients create a job and see in the invitation tab Upwork suggests people who have worked in the same field,
make your contract name contain your skilled word, like my skills are in AWS, so my every contract contains AWS in some way, it increases chances to show your profile in the suggestion of invite profile, so before client create a contract, tell your client to create a title like what you say.
you might be thinking that how I can get a work history before getting any jobs in Upwork, okay I was having the same problem and what I did was, whenever I get any client outside Upwork, then I onboard them in Upwork and get a good review from them.
Be Available And Reply Fast
when you are offline then it’s more chances to not show your profile in the suggestion of invitation, when you reply late then there are more chances that the client hire someone else before you(this happened with me many times)
So if you are on the computer and working for something else then always open Upwork windows in one chrome tab and frequently visit it, try to check the latest job, you might find some best job for your skill and you will be showed all-time active on Upwork, so it will show you more on the suggestion,
It takes little time to make your profile active and start suggesting it by Upwork so don’t be sad after doing this all changes if you are not getting an Invitation
Keep updating your profile as per Latest skills and adding technology you will definitely get invites
